Nemours is seeking a Registered Nurse for our general pediatrics stepdown unit to join our team in Wilmington, Delaware.
This position is casual, 48 hrs in 6wks, rotating shifts, with weekend and holiday rotation.
3 East is a surgical intermediate unit with a high population of patients requiring post-operative care for urological issues, traumatic injuries, and general surgery.
3 East also cares for patients with acute and end stage renal disease and patients requiring an intermediate level of nursing care due to their tracheostomy and/or ventilator needs.
Each patient room is equipped with oxygen, compressed air, and suction along with state-of-the-art cardiorespiratory bedside monitors and computers that enable the healthcare team to access a patient's electronic medical record.
The patient care complexity directly relates to the wide range of patient care skills required for this diverse patient population.
The goal of this unit is to provide high-quality, cost-effective patient care.
The Synergy model is used in making appropriate patient assignments based on patient and family needs and nursing skill set.
Special equipment used on this unit includes infusion pumps, syringe pumps, feeding pumps, BiPap respirators, Oxygen delivery methods, PCA & epidural pumps, wound vacutainers, ventilators and specialty beds.
Nursing competencies include: chest tube management, pain management, blood product administration, urinary catheterization, tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and central line care and management.
Qualifications:
* We are looking for professional and dedicated nurses passionate about pediatrics
* BSN preferred; if have associate's degree must receive BSN within three years
* Pediatric experience preferred
* At least 6 months of nursing experience required
* Bilingual Preferred
* Must be eligible for or have current DE nursing license.
* Must have BLS certification through the American Heart Association.

This step-down unit provides inpatient care for pediatric patients requiring services from the Hematology/ Oncology, Transplant and Cellular Therapy, and Endocrine subspecialties.
Admitting diagnoses include but are not limited to leukemia, lymphoma, brain tumors, neuroblastomas, solid organ malignancies, sickle cell disease, bleeding disorders, diabetes, and other types of genetic and immune disorders.
In addition, stem cell and bone marrow donors are cared for on this unit.

Nemours is searching for a part-time Pharmacy Student Intern position is responsible for providing Pharmacy Services within the Inpatient and Outpatient Pharmacy Department of the Nemours Alfred I DuPont Hospital for Children (AIDHC).
The position is responsible for assisting in the preparation (including technical aspects of preparation) and delivery of all medications to patients.
This position is responsible for providing customer service to internal and external customers, working under the operational supervision of the pharmacist.
The majority of tasks and responsibilities are related to preparing, dispensing and distributing medications.
Primary Responsibilities:
Performs various functions associated with the AIDHC drug distribution system and demonstrates familiarity with the general duties and responsibilities of a Pharmacy Student Intern including knowledge, competency and understanding of the position to which he/she is assigned, which may include: cart fill, Pyxis functionality, IV preparation (e.g.
syringes, admixtures, hazardous, continuous renal replacement therapy, total parenteral nutrition, etc.), unit dose packaging, filling outpatient prescriptions (data entry, third party processing, barcoding), unit inspections, oral liquid compounding, stock inventory maintenance and replenishment, code cart process, selling prescriptions at POS, delivery of prescriptions, and fielding phone calls.
Prepares accurately, through the proper use of equipment and techniques; individualized doses of sterile and non- sterile extemporaneous medication, in an appropriate container, labeled in an appropriate manner and stored at the recommended temperature
Medication Delivery.
Pharmacy products are distributed accurately, with the appropriate quantity and at the time the product is needed during hourly medication delivery and Batch delivery
Inventory Control
Participates in Continuous Improvement Activities
Qualifications:

Schedules will include every third weekend and every third holiday.
The Nemours Pediatric Critical Care Transport Team (CCTT) operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week to stabilize and transport sick and injured children.
Our teams consist of two to four health care professionals, of which two are typically nurses.
Direct medical command is supplied by board-certified pediatric intensivists.
The CCTT nurse assumes responsibility and is accountable for the delivery and management of expert, specialty care of the critically ill or injured neonate, infant, child, or adolescent during inter-facility pediatric transports.
Principal admitting diagnoses includes prematurity, respiratory illnesses, neurological disorders and trauma patients.
The team uses specially-designed equipment to maintain or exceed the level of care provided by referring facilities, to include multi-parameter vital-sign monitors, high-flow oxygen delivery units, mechanical ventilators, Nitric Oxide delivery units, cooling units, compact infusion pumps and defibrillator/external pacemakers.
Advanced procedures performed by CCTT staff include vascular access (intravenous and intraosseous), endotracheal intubation, chest decompression and advanced airway management.
