General Purpose
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) evaluates and treats patients, communicates with families, physicians and other health team members and maintains documentation of services in the medical records.
Conducts inservices and training for facility staff on an ongoing basis.
Essential Duties
• Evaluate patients within twenty-four (24) hours, or 1 business day of physician referral.
If unable to complete evaluation in 24 hours, documentation in medical record clearly defines cause for delay.
• Develop effective treatment plan and obtain approval for services from referring physician.
• Treat patients per the physician treatment plan.
• Supervise Speech-Language Pathologist Assistants in direct patient care and patient related activities, following state practice act.
• Communicate with supervisor and other health team members regarding patient progress, problem and plans.

The practical bits
* We operate a rota across seven days per week, with the earliest start time being 9am, and the latest finish time being 7pm.
You will be expected to work at least one weekend per month, and cover some bank holidays (weekend & bank holiday shifts are 10am-6pm and will be shared fairly across the team)
* Flexible working and part time hours can be considered for the right candidate
* You will be based at out Lymington site, with regular travel to the site in Hythe and very occasional travel to other sites within Hampshire

Practice infection prevention and control measures in compliance with Federal, State and facility requirements.

Document in CNA ECS flowsheet promptly, accurately and comprehensively/thoroughly.

Make routine and frequent rounds to ensure that safety precautions/equipment are in place and in working order.

Avoid development of skin problems or skin breakdown by providing timely incontinent care and frequent repositioning of residents that need assistance.
CNA ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant in accordance with the laws of Florida. One year of long-term care experience or working with handicapped or developmentally disabled adults. Must be CPR Certified.
