Job Summary
The Product Manager position will be responsible for product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle.
Including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, sales, channel marketing and production.
The key contribution of the product management position is to collaborate on the strategy and implement that strategy to create product plans for Oldcastle which allow profitable growth of sales and market share for each product category.
This role manages the product category for ideation through obsolescence, the complete life cycle.

Job Responsibilities
* Lead product manager for project concept ideation to completion.
* Work with sales, customers and internal sources to develop new product development strategies for assigned product category; align with director/sales leads prior to launching.
* Brainstorm and develop new product development road maps by product category.
* Develop project briefs and scope documents to properly define the new product development projects.
* Lead support project teams to work on the development, engineering, costing, pricing, manufacturing, planning and marketing for all new product introductions and existing product updates.
Support the team throughout the entire new product development set up process.
* Monitor market conditions to determine proper positioning for product pricing by channel.
Determine pricing strategy for retail accounts and review with business unit manager.
Recommend pricing strategy for all channels and review with business unit manager.
* Manage product lifecycle for each category to choose phase in/phase out products by category.
Review with sales/production planning to properly execute phase in/phase out strategies.
* Work with Supply Chain on excess and obsolete products.

This position involves various manual tasks of general laboring duties on a rail yard crew, including but not limited to: shoveling, sweeping, operating hand tools and heavy equipment, and moving materials as directed.

Ultimately, with company provided training and work experience, the Rail Crew Laborer seeks to achieve certification as a full charge Rail Specialist qualified to assist in train movements within CYD's rail yards.
During the orientation period, the Rail Crew Laborer will apply for the CNYX Rail Conductor Program.
Rail Crew Laborer must meet company and Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) standards for physical requirements, Motor Vehicle Record, and background/safety record.
If accepted into the Program, the Rail Crew Laborer will complete classroom work and on the job training.
Once the Conductor Training Program is completed, the trainee is eligible for promotion to the Rail Specialist position.
With experience, Rail Specialists are eligible to apply for the CNYX Locomotive Engineer Training Program.
