Sanitation Worker
Drive a single or tandem axle side loading refuse packer truck and collect and dispose of solid waste.
Works at the recycling center when required sorting recyclables.
May be assigned to a roll-off truck or boom truck instead of side loaders.
Responsbilities
* Pick up and dump refuse containers and trash.
* Collect large items such as tree limbs and deposit on a flatbed truck.
* Cut or mow weeds and grass to leave streets, alleys and surrounding property in a clean and sanitary condition.
* Utilize hand tools such as shovels, pitchforks, rakes and small power tools such as saws and mowers.
* Wash, paint and service city equipment and machinery; assist with minor repair.
* Will periodically assist other departments with moving large or heavy objects and general maintenance.

* Will clean behind packer and inside hopper.
