Software Engineer [Multiple Positions Available]

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions.

Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices.

Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules.

Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues.

Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications.

Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows.

Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Java Developer, or related occupation.

The employer will alternatively accept a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Java Developer, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires three (3) years of experience with the following: Designing and developing Microservices using Spring, Java, and Maven; Agile SDLC methodology utilizing project management tools including JIRA and Confluence to iterate and improve software; Utilizing SQL to query databases; Developing code to read from database tables while implementing load balancing policies; Developing and testing code using a local IDE such as IntelliJ or Eclipse; Deploying and testing applications in a Cloud infrastructure; Configuring and deploying to Cloud-based platforms such as Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes, or AWS; Continuous integration and continuous delivery for software development; Contributing to a shared code repository and checking in code updates using GIT; Completing code reviews on pull requests to asses code quality across aspects of readability, correctness, performance, security, and adherence to coding standards; Writing Junit tests to test code functionality for a minimum of 80% of the codebase; Writing integration tests to validate an application's request and response; Identifying success and failure scenarios for each API through reading codebase; Performing functional and regression testing across identified success and failure scenarios to ensure code behaves; providing production support and a...
