Global Non- Wovens Division

Position Purpose:

Provide technical expertise and coordination to one machine crew and drive achievement of business objectives, in addition to primary responsibilities as a base machine team member.

Key Customers:

Team Leader, Core Team, Operating Crews, Other Machine Leaders, Project Leaders, Maintenance Leads, Shift Leaders, Consumers.

Customer Expectations:

Ensure that maintenance activities are accomplished within mill area teams in a manner that supports mill and department objectives.

Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivity.

Own and drive machine uptime.

Visible leader of Lean principles (i.e.

engagement, leader standard work, zone control, problem solving).

Ensure corrective and preventive action for all machine nonconformances and support operating crews when needed.

Scope:

The incumbent reports to an Operations Team Leader and receives work direction from the Machine Leader or the Maintenance Lead (approximately one-half of work is scheduled for completion of PM's and work orders).

This position provides expertise and coordination for the technical activities.

To be successful, the incumbent must possess a high level of technical skills.

This position communicates directly with operating crews, core team, Technical Experts, Maintenance Leads, Shift Leaders, and other Machine Leaders to achieve business objectives.

Qualifications:

     Completion of an approved apprenticeship program or technical associates degree, with a minimum of 24 months related industrial maintenance experience OR 5 years’ experience as an Industrial E&I Technician.

Technical Skills

Read and use electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, single line diagrams and circuit diagrams.

Diagnosis and repair of electrical power and control systems, D.C.

and A.C.

variable speed drives & servo drives.

Skills and Experiences that include:
• Electrical Distribution Systems
• Motors/Drives
• Distributed Control Systems
• Programmable Logic Control
• Valves, Positioners and Actuators
• Transducers and Transmitters
• Qualified Electrical Skills (NFPA 70E)
• Digital & Analog Field Components
• Test Equipment
• Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems

Other:
• Familiar with a computerized maintenance system.
• Ability to work safely in a multi-functional team environment
• Ability to learn and use new reliability skills.
• Must be able to troubleshoot and use analyzing techniques to identify and resolve failures when they occur.
• Process Control troubleshooting on:
- Conveyors
- Control Systems
- Pneumatic Systems

The Technical Expert must demonstrate personal sensitivity and competency in process and technical knowledge, as well as leadership.
