Director, Mergers & Acquisitions

Work in close collaboration with Search & Evaluation, R&D and Commercial to help implement the company’s M&A strategy and identify new M&A opportunities.

Articulate, advocate and present M&A and divestiture opportunities, company profiles and summaries, including scientific, commercial and financial value drivers.

Lead project teams, assessment of M&A opportunities and key due diligence activities by working successfully across the company’s various stakeholders.

Participate in and lead negotiation of M&A, divestiture and other strategic transactions to successful completion.

Obtain appropriate business function input and required internal approvals to execute transactions.

Review contracts and guide drafting in conjunction with the Law Department.

Position Requirements:


* Bachelor of Science degree in relevant area; MBA, MD, JD or other advanced degree preferred.


* At least 10 years of relevant business experience in the biopharmaceutical industry with 5 or more years experience in M&A or business development.


* Significant deal sheet in sourcing, managing and executing complex M&A/business development transactions.


* Strong analytical, communication and leadership skills.

Ability to communicate effectively with senior management.


* Excellent negotiation skills.


* Proven ability to lead multiple projects efficiently and with a high degree of independence and high attention to detail.


* Consistently delivers on commitments in a timely manner.


* Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate ideas and lead others to accomplish challenging goals and objectives.


* Experience working with both internal and external multidisciplinary teams customers.


* Can-do attitude and ability to work in a highly matrixed and dynamic business environment including ability to interact and communicate to senior level executives.
