Healthcare Analyst II


POSITION SUMMARY

Molina Healthcare, Inc.

is searching for a Healthcare Analyst II for our Albuquerque, NM location to pprovide healthcare and financial analysis for the Plan, including quantifying and analyzing membership, utilization, contracting and financial elements of health care for Medicaid and Medicare, utilizing decision support tools, standard reports and developing ad hoc analyses.

Develop standard reports to support the multiple departments within the health plan, including Finance, Provider contracting, and, Healthcare Services.

You will assist with the development and maintenance of databases used within Finance to support various programs and to provide tracking, monitoring and reporting; be accountable for developing the understanding and applying of how data and analytics can benefit the performance of their assigned functional area and the organization.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

Education:
* BA/BS degree in Finance, Business, Computer Science, Math or related field and/or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience; MBA preferred
Experience:
* Minimum 2-5 years increasingly complex analyses, forecasting, and data management responsibilities.
* Strong background in extracting and compiling data, creating reports and displaying information; experience combining operational and financial data.
* Proven ability to conduct and interpret quantitative and qualitative analyses.
* Proficiency with PC-based systems, including Microsoft Excel and Access.
* Experience working with relational databases and writing SQL.
* Problem solving, analytical ability and interpersonal skills are important to perform successfully in this position.
* Must be able to function independently, manage multiple projects and meet established deadlines.

Demonstrated adaptability and flexibility to changes; responsive to new ideas and approaches.
* Experience with multiple data systems and models.

Health care industry background; preferred
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Research and develop reports and analysis for senior management pertaining to areas such as finance, membership, utilization, claims and authorizations, contracting and profitability; communicate analysis and supporting data in a manner that is meaningful to the recipient.
* Work with internal, external and enterprise clients as needed to provide analytic support, develop and document new standard reports, develop innovative strategic planning models.
* Participate in the month-end close process, preparing related reports and schedules.
* Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual statements and experience reporting to State agencies.
* Prepare reports and analysis supporting contracting efforts and responding to rate and premium changes implemented by the State.
