Software Engineering Senior Advisor-Hybrid

The Data Management Tool within Evernorth Health Services (formerly Express Scripts) is a critical application for forecasting drug rebates, including deriving the Maximum Allowable Cost for prescription drugs.

We are seeking an exceptional Java developer to help manage and enhance the application.

The application is currently a Java Spring MVC framework and is being modernized using REACT and Spring Boot.

In addition, the candidate should have strong Java development skills as a backend developer and strong relational database skills for DB querying (SQL), using stored procedures, triggers and CRUD operations.The candidate will be working within an Agile team and so Agile experience is essential.

In addition, knowledge of the health insurance and/or forecasting domain is important.

We need an engineer who can solve complex technical problems, ask in-depth questions when reviewing requirements, follow a strict Agile process and ensure quality software is delivered through QA into our Production environment.


* 4+ years of UI development experience


* 6+ core Java development experience


* Ability to write web services in Java using the Spring Boot framework.


* Strong SQL skills - queries, complex joins, ability to design tables in Oracle SQL and experience with stored procedures and triggers.


* Ability to translate business requirements provided by product owners into JIRA stories.


* Ability to ask questions, learn a critical business domain.


* Follow the SAFe Agile process - Sprints, PIs, and scrum ceremonies.


* Lead a team of developers to design, implement and test code.


* In a Senior Advisor role, the candidate is expected to show leadership and guide other developer while also completing their sprint objectives and implement quality code.
