Senior Engineering Manager - Order Sourcing - Hybrid

As the Senior Engineering Manager for the Order Sourcing team you will drive innovation around the systems in the Supply Chain area.

These systems are critical to our digital platforms responsible for the successful processing of every order placed by our customers, regardless of the origination of the order.

The ideal candidate will have a successful history of partnering with product leaders, stakeholders and engineering teams to deliver solutions and the constant uptime of these critical systems.

* This role is hybrid, which means you will work some days on site at a Best Buy location and some days from home or another non-Best Buy location.

For this role, you must be in a drivable distance to our office in Richfield, Minnesota or Atlanta, Georgia.

What you’ll do


* Lead a talented team of onshore/offshore engineers


* Help to set project scope and requirements


* Design and build impactful solutions across your teams


* Keep team members focused on quality and regular releases


* Work with other leaders to find creative solutions to customer issues


* Collaborate with product managers and UX professionals


* Participate in production support along with their team


* Be an active participant in planning and performing code and architecture reviews

Basic Qualifications


* 5 or more years of relevant back-end software engineering experience


* Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.


* 1 or more years managing and/or leading engineering teams to include day to day management and career development


* 4 or more years of experience as software developer in standard web technologies to include Java, Spring and Groovy


* 2 or more years of experience with No SQL databases (Cassandra, Mongo DB, etc.)


* 1 or more years of experience with Cloud Computing platforms (e.g., Amazon AWS, Google Cloud Platform etc.)

Preferred Qualifications


* 7 or more years of relevant professional experience


* Experience with modern web technologies and frameworks (Spring, Java, Groovy, REST services etc.)


* Experience in agile development methodology – Scrum, Kanban and/or XP.


* Medium to advanced proficiency with UNIX/Linux command line


* 2 or more years of experience continuous integration and deployment practices with Jenkins or similar tool


* Experience in using Analytics and Data Science to make informed decisions and drive efficiency


* Ability to exhibit strong, clear communication skills: with your team, with other teams, with product managers and leaders
